Alex and Araya’s wedding was in June. That really hot weekend in June where temps were 20-25 degrees above normal. But despite the extreme heat their wedding was perfect! The entire wedding was held in a walnut orchard with pink and white lanterns hanging from the trees. Truly magical. They chose to forgo most traditional events and have a relaxing celebration with family and friends. It was a nice change of pace from the traditional weddings. 🙂 A big thanks goes out to my second shooter Lisa for helping me that day!!!
I always prefer to have the couple write a little bit about their day so here’s a note from Araya. 🙂 “Alex and I choose his parents ranch because we wanted a personal wedding where we could really take the time to talk to our guests. My family lives in L.A. and most of our friends are from larger cities so showing them where Alex grew up, which is very different from L.A. was a personal invitation that we wanted our family and friends to experience. We didn’t want to spend a lot of money for one day when we have a house mortgage and wanted to honeymoon in Europe, but we wanted something intimate and meaningful. Having good food was one of the things we were willing to spend money on because we know that people like to eat! Going the route we did was great, because in the end it saved us a lot of money compared to how much weddings can cost, while still looking nice and guests having a different experience. I just love the simplicity of the wedding and how so many people helped out the day before and the day of! Definitely loved the mason jars and paper straws and our friend made the mojito, which great since his wife was the one who introduced it to me, which is now my favorite summer drink!”
