Melissa and Rob’s wedding could not have fallen on a nicer day! Considering how this May ended up, May 1, 2011 was probably one of the warmest days we had for the month! The skies were crystal clear and oh so blue! The venue was spectacular and if you have not been to Monte Verde Inn before, I highly suggest you take a tour. It is a wonderful venue for weddings. Because the weather was so nice the entire event was able to be outdoors! This was my first Monte Verde Inn wedding entirely outdoors. I loved it! The light stays perfect just long enough to not have to break out the flashes until dancing beings. Plus with the outdoor receptions you get to have the dance floor in the redwood grove! Simply beautiful!
I had the pleasure of having Trizza from Trizza Grantham Photography second shoot with me for the day. We had a blast working together and I love that I get to do this amazing job with such good friends! Who could ask for a better job?!?!
Here is a little peek into how Rob and Melissa met and planning a wedding in 4 months!
“Rob and I met in early 2010 when my sister convinced me to give online dating a try. We were soon matched, communicated via the internet and phone, and met for the first time. We discovered we had many important things in common, while complimenting each other at the same time with our differences. Before long, we grew into a deep love for each other. Rob proposed on New Year’s Eve, and the wedding planning craziness began. Although we had talked about marriage and weddings, we had not talked specifics about what we would want or started any planning. We knew we didn’t want a long engagement, so were looking for a wedding facility that had availability for the spring/summer of this year (2011). One of the first places we visited was the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill. We loved the site and their amazing service, and after some discussion and looking booked one of their last dates available, for May 1, 2011. Because April and May hold the chance for rainy weather, we had to plan for two scenarios—rain or sunshine. We loved the outdoor venue at Monte Verde Inn, and prayed for a sunny day in the low 70’s, so we could have both our ceremony and reception outdoors. We were so blessed to have our prayers answered and have a spectacular day (one of the nicest this entire spring!). Planning a wedding in almost exactly four months was hectic and crazy, but so worth it in the end. Our day was truly special and beautiful; a huge thank you to each person who helped to make it so!”
