Jennifer and Eric’s wedding was my second to last wedding of the season. The last wedding was the next morning, in Yosemite Valley. I was exhausted to say the least after that weekend! I seriously love photographing weddings at Serrano Country Club. Serrano knows how to put on a wedding! The food is amazing, the venue is stunning, and the views of Folsom Lake and beyond are priceless. A big thanks to Trizza again for being my right hand woman! I could not have done it with out you! A big thank you to Jennifer and Eric for having me document your special day. I am always honored to capture all of your special days.

Ryan & Melissa – Married at Cory’s Country Inn – Chico, Ca

I spent my college years in Chico and there is always a part of me that will forever miss that town. If you’ve lived in Chico for any length of time you will understand. I was so excited to be able return to Chico to photograph our friends wedding at Cory’s Country Inn. It’s not often that I can say I have known the couple since the night they met. :-)

As you will see this venue is simply gorgeous. The couple is gorgeous and celebrating with friends is priceless. The secret garden, the pasture with the white fence and orchards, and the giant dining/reception area. I loved everything about this wedding. Ryan and Melissa chose to cut a cake but serve the guest dessert in the form of a smores’s bar instead. Such a fun idea and when the marshmellows are sugar free that makes them even better! Make sure to check out all the yummy flavors! A big thanks to Amy from Simply W Photography for second shooting for me!

I can’t forget to mention the wedding party…..oh man were they a blast to work with. As you will see they were a photographers dream and some of the shots are to die for hilarious.

Lauren & Scott – Married at The Brazilian Room

This was my first time at the Brazilian Room and it did not disappoint. The Brazilian Room is located in Tilden Park in Berkeley and I love that it’s off the beaten path in the eucalyptus trees. Add in some fog and it made for a perfectly romantic day. The food was amazing, some of the best I had at a wedding this year! I had Trizza of Trizza Grantham Photography with me again and I can not thank her enough for all her help!

Sarah & Rick – Engagement Session

2012 is off to an AMAZING start! I am only a couple of weddings away from being fully booked for 2012! I can hardly believe it. It’s so exciting for me and of course a dream come true to have my business be so successful.

Sarah and Rick’s engagement session was the first of the year and my first session back to from a 2 month vacation (I love my late fall breaks!) We met up at the Davis Arboretum last Saturday which turned out to be the last “fall like day”. I was gorgeous, warm, and so much fun. We stayed in the area near the Putah Creek Lodge and it was the perfect location for what we needed. I can say for sure that I will be back at the Arboretum soon for more sessions.

Sarah and Rick were so wonderful to work with and I am so excited for their wedding in June! Please enjoy their session and leave them some love in the comments!

2012 Mini Session Announcement

Family mini sessions have been announced! Yes it’s 10 months out BUT since I am only photographing families once a year I figured I’d give you all plenty of notice as to when it would be. The 6 spots that are open are in the afternoon. If more than 6 want to book then I will open up the morning times and possibly another day, but it just depends on the wedding season. As of now I have 9 fall weddings with more inquiries coming in, so I will be plenty busy as it is. Should I get an inquiry and booking before anyone books a mini session then the date will change. The mini sessions are for family and children sessions and are not for engagements or newborns. All photos will be ready by December 1, 2012.

I have always loved before and afters. Now that I am finally caught up for a few months I will be able to get to editing some of my family photos from the past year! This past October we went up to Seaside, Oregon for the celebration of Hal-Thanks-Mas (more on that when I actually blog those photos) I love this picture of my daughter being a curious 2 year old on the Promanade just after we left the aquarium.

This image is a little more dramatic. Not something I would do to a ton of family images but fun to play around once and a while.

This image is the above image with my favorite haze action layered over it. I love the soft look it gives the image.

These two “major” edits took less than 2 minutes each.

2011 – A year in review

I can not thank my clients enough for how successful this year was for White Daisy Photography. 2011 consisted of 21 wedding, 15 engagement session and 18 lifestyle sessions. For a mom of 2 little ones and my part time vet hospital job (which I love just as much as photography), I have been one busy woman! I am so excited for what 2012 has to bring for my family and my business. With 15 weddings on the books so far I am 3/4′s booked for 2012! I have chosen to only photograph weddings from now on and will be offering 1 or 2 mini session dates for 2012. I will announce that when dates have been picked! Thank you again for supporting me!

Rachel & Mike – Married at the Chalet View Lodge

Rachel and Mike’s wedding fell September 17th which was my 5th wedding anniversary! I was so exited to travel up to Graeagle since I had not been there before. I can not say enough good things about this wedding venue! Simply gorgeous and a perfect location for a mountain destination wedding. They have a spa, hair salon and massages on site with a restaurant and Starbucks as well. I stayed for 2 nights which was a nice little vacation for me as well! I’d like to thank Jessica Barrie of Jessica B Photography for being my second shooter for the day. I could not have made it though the day with out her! The reception was absolutely insane and we were moving for 4 hours. Such a huge help! Thank you so much!!! I will be making comments though out the post for the rest of my thoughts on this wedding. Below is some words from Rachel and their thoughts on planning this gorgeous wedding!

“We wanted a venue that allowed our guests to spend the night on site so that we could spend as much time with them as possible. We hoped our wedding would feel like a mini-vacation with all of our favorite people. The Chalet View was the perfect venue for us. We tried to make our wedding as intimate and as personal as possible. I chose books as a central theme because I have always loved books. Many of my favorite books remind me of specific times in my life and the people I shared those times with. Their placement on each table was (as much as possible anyway) matched to the guests seated at each table. Atlas Shrugged, for example, was on the table of my college roommate who, in my eyes, has always been Dagny Taggart. James Herriot books were stacked on my mother’s table because All Creatures Great and Small will always remind me of her and of my childhood. We gave bookmarks as favors which, in addition to being an ode to books, served to let our guests know that a donation was made in their honor to Bearskin Meadows Diabetic Kids Camp. Bearskin Meadows. The butterfly’s hanging in the loft where we got ready were made by my sister and made out of pages from books. Hannah and I grew up in Butterfly Valley and butterflies have always held a special meaning for us.

In my opinion, the best detail of our wedding was what a team effort it was. It was incredible to see how much our family and friends came together to make our wedding happen. Nearly every detail of the wedding, from the planter boxes and burlap runners to the flowers, was made by family and friends. Their participation and presence in our day was by far our favorite part of the wedding.”

Hannah, the brides sister with some help from others (see below) designed the rest of the wedding. I told her she needs to do this for a living…. I am still very serious about that Hannah!!!!!

This was my room and I love every bit of it. It was in the main part of the logde. I think the loft idea is a great way to allow for so many guests to share rooms!

The butterflies from the books. I loved them!!

I have to give a little disclaimer here regarding the Jimmy Choo’s. You will be seeing a lot of them. I have never known a bride to pick a wedding dress based on how it would show off the shoes, hence the short dress! They are gorgeous and even better in person.

The bridesmaids had two different dresses. The maids of honor in all black and the bridesmaids in black and yellow Anthropologie dresses. Rachel has a gift bag for the girls and each one included a personalized dress hanger and black sashes for the dresses.

Hannah made all of these hair pieces. She sells them as well!

All of these signs were made by Hannah too!

This dragonfly landed on a cousin during family formals. I moved him to a better spot!

I loved how these tables were set up. You could see the dance floor from every seat and it was a great way to keep all the guests close together. The dance floor in the center was packed all night long!
